Responsibilities:
- Teaches assigned subject areas adopted by the Board of Trustees, or a combination thereof, in departmentalized or team teaching situations.
- Instructs pupils in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements of the course of study required by state law and district regulations.
- Provides planned learning experiences that motivate pupils and make best use of instructional time.
- Develops lesson plans, instructional materials, and provides individualized and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to each pupil’s needs.
- Translates lesson plans into effective learning experiences.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve a functional learning environment.
- Collaborates in setting standards of expected student progress, and developing assessment techniques.
- Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps records, prepares progress reports, and communicates with parents.
- Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff to assess and address health, attitude, and learning problems.
