Gateway Hydraulics & Hardchrome is a proudly Western Australian owned business with over 20 years of experience supporting the mining, civil, construction, earthmoving and oil & gas industries. Operating from our modern facilities in High Wycombe and Malaga, we specialise in hydraulic cylinder repair, hard chrome plating, precision machining and engineering services for some of Australia's largest mining companies.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Hydraulic Fitter to join our High Wycombe workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale mining and industrial hydraulic cylinders while being part of a company that values its people, invests in its facilities, and promotes a strong team culture.

About the Role

As a Hydraulic Fitter, you will be responsible for the inspection, assessment, repair and assembly of hydraulic cylinders used across a wide range of mining and industrial equipment. Your duties will include:

  • Disassembly and assembly of hydraulic cylinders
  • Inspection and assessment of components
  • Measuring and reporting wear against OEM specifications
  • Fault finding and identifying failure modes
  • Seal replacement and cylinder rebuilds
  • Working closely with machinists, boilermakers and workshop personnel
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, housekeeping and safety
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

You will have the opportunity to work on cylinders from Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr and other major OEM equipment used throughout the Australian mining industry.

  • Essential Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol screening
  • Full Australian working rights

Highly Desirable

  • Hydraulic cylinder repair experience
  • Experience working on mining equipment components
  • Experience in inspection and assessment of hydraulic cylinders
  • Forklift licence
  • Dogging, rigging or overhead crane experience
