We provide social rented homes, shared ownership, and sheltered housing. We develop new homes and run our own in-house maintenance service, Gateway Homeworks. Accountabilities

  • Undertake accounting for service charges and rental income and other supporting services for customer services directorate.
  • Lead the preparation of service charge budgets, actuals and analysis monitoring, controlling service charge income and expenditure budgets, and preparation of in-year forecasts.
  • Prepare annual budget for service charges - calculate all estimated service charge calculations for tenants, leaseholders and shared owners.
  • Monitor posting of service charges, rechargeable repairs and sinking fund transactions.
  • Collaborate with the finance specialist - rents and service charges in the accounting for rents.
  • Calculate, maintain and correspond with Managing Agents for GHA properties and Managing Agents for leased properties to ensure accuracy and inclusion of all relevant costs and charges.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • AAT qualified or part qualified accountant or suitable alternative commensurate experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of service charge and rent calculations including good practice.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to control and deliver a range of tasks to strict deadlines.
  • Experience in setting and monitoring service charge actuals and estimates processes.
  • Experience in preparation of rent accounting and service charge budgets, estimates and actuals.
