Location

Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp – 40 Pippin Rd., Newcastle, WY 82701 (medium‑security correctional facility near the Black Hills and Rapid City, SD). The site offers a unique and supportive work environment on an open‑campus setting with free daily meals, strong team camaraderie, and opportunities to participate in DOC events, fundraisers, and community initiatives.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, flexible hours between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM (40‑hour week), with occasional evenings up to 8:00 PM and rotating shift 1‑2 days.

Residential Addiction Counselors – Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop and implement complex treatment plans for clients with dual diagnoses, social or mental health issues.
  • Provide counseling services to clients with a caseload, completing assessments and treatment planning.
  • Serve as a professional resource to other counselors, resolving complex case problems and providing clinical supervision and guidance as needed.
  • Conduct in‑service and continuing education programs for treatment staff.
  • Assume responsibility for overseeing counselors in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 3 years of clinical experience preferred; 1 year of treatment center experience preferred.
  • Current Certified Addictions Professional (CAP), Certified Social Worker (CSW), Certified Mental Health Worker (CMHW), or Certified Addictions Professional Associate (CAP‑A) certification required.
  • Full‑time position; some nights and weekends may be required.
  • Relocation and sign‑on bonuses are available; employees may also be eligible to apply for loan forgiveness.

Physical Requirements

  • Speak with others to exchange information and provide counseling.
  • Record and proofread information on forms and charts.
  • Respond to telephones and pages, and hear speech.
  • Use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and audit information and data on a regular basis.

Compensation (based on experience and credentials)

Hourly rate begins at $29.81 – $30.77. Gateway Foundation conducts annual reviews including merit increases.
