Responsibilities
- General maintenance
- Mending broken items around site
- Troubleshooting
- Groundskeeping
- Painting and decorating
- Simple plumbing
- Preventative maintenance
- Assisting with furniture assembly and relocation
- Compliance with health and safety regulations
- Conducting PAT testing, Legionella testing, fire testing, and emergency lights checks
- Keeping the site safe for staff and students
- Risk assessments and acting as fire marshalls
- Security measures including locking/unlocking premises
- Compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation
- Carrying out health and safety checks in accordance with SOPs
- Reporting findings of health and safety checks
- Identifying risks, hazards and threats to people, property and premises
- Implementing site emergency and evacuation procedures
- Collaborating with colleagues in accordance with SOPs
- Responding to customer queries and incidents
- Dealing with complaints and keeping customers informed
- Applying policies in sustainability and corporate social responsibility
- Operating the stock management system
- Confirming the correct functioning of equipment used to deliver FM services
- Carrying out quality assurance checks
- Collecting FM-related information from various sources
- Collating FM and health and safety information
- Providing support to the access management system
- Ensuring communal areas meet required standards of cleanliness
- Greeting and treating visitors appropriately
- Maintaining service areas for cleanliness and hygiene
