As a Warehouse Shift Team Leader, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of warehouse activities, ensuring customer demands are met efficiently and safely. You'll lead a team, maintain high operational standards, and play a key role in stock control, logistics coordination, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage daily warehouse operations to meet customer requirements
- Drive team performance, providing guidance, motivation, and support
- Ensure accurate stock control and stock integrity at all times
- Coordinate with internal teams, GPI depots, and third-party warehouses
- Manage on-time delivery issues (OTIF) and communicate with customers when needed
- Control returned pallets and ensure correct storage and QA processes
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and warehouse organisation
- Enforce health & safety standards, including PPE compliance
- Oversee forklift truck safety, usage, and checks
- Ensure accurate reporting, stock records, and documentation
- Strong experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced setting
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Counterbalance forklift licence
- Desirable: NVQ Level 3
- Flexi/Reach truck licence
- Experience within an FMCG environment
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style
- A focus on results, accuracy, and continuous improvement
