Applications are invited from registered Medical Practitioners for this post in the Department of Medicine in Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The post would suit individuals who aim to pursue a career in Acute Medicine or other Medical Specialty.
The successful candidate will predominately work with our Acute Medicine team, there might also be opportunities to work within other specialist areas within the Trust.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to work at registrar level, assessing and managing patients presenting to the acute medicine department. He/ she will be involved in the resuscitation and management of acutely ill and deteriorating patients. The job includes participation in the medical registrar on call rota. As a senior clinical fellow (registrar equivalent) the successful candidate will be expected to be involved in the leadership of the department. This may involve organising departmental teaching, supporting the day to day team allocation and supporting the resident doctors as required.
Job responsibilities
The candidate must have at least 2 years clinical experience at CT/ IMT level (or equivalent) and should ideally have clinical experience at IMT3+ level (or equivalent). The post will be available from August 2026 and will run for a 12 month fixed term period. The candidate must have NHS experience.

- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice

- MRCP

- Completion of IMT (or equivalent)
