Main duties of the job:
- The advertised post of Senior Clinical Fellow (Registrar) in Paediatrics is to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis for 12 months.
- The post offers clinical experience in a supportive General Paediatric unit with exposure to level 1 Neonates and is suitable for anyone interested in pursuing a career in Paediatrics.
- Recognition, assessment and management of unwell/sick children in acute/ambulatory setting.
- Neonatal assessments and resuscitation skills.
- Participate in the on-call rota.
- Conduct general paediatric outpatient clinics under consultant supervision.
- Participate in audits and current research projects.
- Participate in the teaching of resident doctors and medical students.
- Involvement in quality improvement projects.
- Maintain a good working relationship with existing staff members in the hospital.
- Perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant in conjunction, where practicable, with their colleagues.
Job responsibilities:
- All staff are expected to be involved in clinical governance and be part of an audit group.
Person Specification – Qualifications and Training:
- MBBS or equivalent.
- APLS or equivalent.
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
- MRCPCH.
- Additional degree or equivalent.
Clinical experience and effectiveness:
- Completion of ST1-2 or equivalent at time of starting post.
- Evidence of working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to team approach and multidisciplinary working.
- Experience at CT/ST 1-2 level in the UK or equivalent.
- Recent experience of providing services in an NHS setting.
