We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our admin team within the Gynae Oncology and Colposcopy Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead. The admin team within the Gynae Oncology service supports the delivery of cancer care to patients from across the region referred to the Trust for specialist cancer care.
In this role, you will provide admin support to the secretaries, cover clinic reception, book in patients, and ensure all details are correct on the system. You will also prepare notes for clinics and perform other general admin duties.
Main duties of the job
- Open and action incoming post and manage outgoing post (including scanning referrals to Central Booking)
- Prepare clinic notes and enter patient details into the MASEY system
- Cover the clinic front desk reception
- Scan direct referrals received to the Booking Centre
- Coordinate and track patient notes (requesting, tracking on Filefast, notes transfer/return, and orphan filing) and other information, including communication between hospital providers
- General photocopying, scanning, filing, stationery management, and runner activities
- Arrange interpreters and transportation in conjunction with the secretaries

The Northern Gynaecological Oncology Centre (NGOC) Team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead is a dedicated team, including five Consultant Gynaecological Oncologists, and a team of junior doctors and nurses specialized in Gynaecological Oncology.
Our team works closely with a wide range of medical specialists across the hospital and regional network, including medical and clinical oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, and palliative care teams.
We prioritize the health and wellbeing of our staff and offer various support initiatives through our \’Balance\’ programme (balancegateshead.com) to ensure a positive and healthy working environment.
