Eslington is a specialist school that meets the needs of primarily Gateshead pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who have a primary need of Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH). We also offer up to 7 Assessment, Reintegration and Outreach (ARO) places for children experiencing some challenge within their mainstream setting on a temporary basis. We currently cater for up to 84 pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 across the two school sites. Increasing numbers have resulted in the need for this additional post These sites are situated approximately 20-minute walk between each other. Our vision and values reflect nurturing principles, with high expectations so that every child can achieve and experience success. The governors are seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team. We are looking for candidates who would be passionate to work with our children alongside a commited staff team. You should have Experiences and knowledge of SEND and SEMH. Excellent classroom practice and behaviour management skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with both staff and pupils. To be child-centred, adaptable and enthusiastic whilst maintaining high expectations for our pupils. A reflective practitioner The post holder will work with children across the primary phase and will include in-class support and one-to-one support. The flexibility to work at either the Rose Street and / or the Hazel Road Sites would be expected as part of the role. We also request that candidates holding a full UK driving licence would be willing to transport children on occasion across sites with business insurance.
