Eslington Primary School is a thriving specialist school located in Gateshead. We cater for up to 84 pupils across two sites, supporting pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and social, emotional and mental health needs. The governors are seeking two talented and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistants to join our team on a temporary basis, starting 1 September 2026.

Responsibilities

  • The post holder will support children across the primary phase, providing in‑class support and one‑to‑one assistance.
  • The role requires flexibility to work at either the Rose Street and/or the Hazel Road sites and may involve transporting children between sites using a full UK driving licence.

  • Excellent classroom practice and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with both staff and pupils
  • Child‑centred, adaptable and enthusiastic while maintaining high expectations for our pupils
