Eslington is a thriving primary school situated across two sites in the Bensham/Teams area of Gateshead. We are a specialist provision that meets the needs of pupils, primarily from Gateshead, who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) with a primary need of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. We also offer up to seven Assessment, Reintegration and Outreach (ARO) places for children experiencing challenges within their mainstream setting on a temporary basis. We currently cater for up to 84 pupils from Year 1 to Year 6. Increasing pupil numbers have created the need for this additional post. Our two sites are approximately a 20-minute walk apart. Our vision and values are rooted in nurturing principles, coupled with high expectations, ensuring that every child can achieve and experience success.
We are looking for a Classroom Teacher to support our ARO provision. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and flexible teacher to gain significant experience in SEND and behaviour management. Staff are expected to work across both locations. This role would also suit someone seeking a one‑year secondment.

The successful candidate will work with pupils across the primary phase and will provide both whole‑class teaching and one‑to‑one support. Flexibility to work at either the Rose Street and/or Hazel Road sites is essential. Candidates with a full UK driving licence should be willing to transport pupils between sites on occasion (business insurance required).
