About the Role

As a Seasonal Street Scene Worker you will support the delivery of front-line services such as refuse collection, street cleansing and grounds maintenance. You will work outdoors, working with a friendly, hands-on team to maintain public areas, parks, playing fields and other open spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Manual sweeping, collection and removal of litter, leaves and weeds in public areas.
  • Emptying litter bins.
  • Grass-cutting in public open space using pedestrian cutters.
  • Supporting the maintenance of parks, playing fields and landscaped areas, including grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, pruning and planting.
  • General labouring duties and operation of powered hand tools and light plant.
  • Collection of household and commercial waste, bulky waste and vacant property waste.
  • Communicating with the public during service provision.
  • Other duties appropriate to the post.
  • Daily checks, maintenance and defect reporting of ride-on mechanical grass-cutting machinery (for ride-on role).
  • Use of ride-on mechanical grass-cutting machinery where applicable.
