- We're looking for a
Public Rights of Way Officer to join our Planning and Highways team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with community engagement, helping to maintain and enhance access to the countryside while delivering real benefits for residents and visitors.
- What You'll Get To Do
- Developing and managing programmes of work to improve the Public Rights of Way Network, ensuring projects are delivered in line with Council policies, priorities and budgets.
- Supporting the promotion of countryside access and recreation through events, publications and engagement initiatives.
- Encouraging and coordinating voluntary involvement in maintaining and enhancing local routes.
- Assisting the Network Manager with the preparation of reports, evidence and documentation relating to legal processes and submissions.
- Providing professional advice and guidance on public rights of way matters, keeping up to date with relevant legislation, policy and best practice.
- Helping to shape and deliver a customer‑focused, high‑quality service that meets the needs of residents, visitors and stakeholders.
- Working collaboratively with internal teams, external partners and local communities to support the effective management of the rights of way network.
