Job description
The Head Teacher and Governors of South Street Community Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, empathetic and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our staff team.
The Family Support Worker will work with families in a non-judgemental way to support attendance and behaviour, deliver therapeutic support and assist with access to support services and other educational opportunities. This is a vital role is creating a sense of belonging and support in our ‘home from home’ school environment.
There will be a transition period supported by our current wonderful family support worker before she retires in December. Visits to the school would be encouraged to appreciate the ethos of the school and the day-on-day variety of the role.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they:
- Can work effectively as part of a team
- Can forge strong relationships with children, parents/carers, outside agencies and the wider community
- Can take responsibility for and are committed to continued professional development
- Will promote our school ethos and values

This job is term time only; however, there may be some instances when you are required to work during school holidays. Additional holidays would be allocated, in agreement with the Head Teacher, to compensate for this.

Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year, they are subject to an equated salary adjustment.
