  • Support learners with a range of learning difficulties, additional educational needs and barriers to learning to engage, participate and make progress in their learning.
  • Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment, recognising and reporting any safeguarding or behavioural concerns.
  • Promote learners' wellbeing, independence, community participation and future employment opportunities.
  • Identify learners' strengths and talents while supporting them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Work alongside tutors to deliver outstanding learning experiences through the preparation, adaptation and organisation of learning resources.
  • Provide effective support to individuals and groups of learners within education settings.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and complete administrative tasks using council systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Continually develop your skills and knowledge to provide high-quality learner support

A Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) together with good numeracy and literacy skills.

  • Knowledge of learning difficulties, barriers to learning and the impact these can have on individuals' learning and life opportunities.
  • Understanding of current learner support practices within schools and/or further education settings.
  • Knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion, safeguarding and Prevent responsibilities.
  • Experience of supporting young people or adults with learning difficulties, social and emotional needs or other barriers to learning.
  • Experience of providing effective one-to-one and group learning support within an educational environment.

Good administrative and digital skills, with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams to maintain accurate records and support service delivery
