Gateshead College is seeking a Learning Support Officer to work with students on a one-to-one and group basis, supporting them to access mainstream, supported curriculum areas and work experience and helping them to achieve and exceed their goals and ambitions at college.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Motivating, supporting and guiding students through their learning journey.
- Developing support plans and learning strategies alongside curriculum staff.
- Managing complex behaviours and ensuring learners are on track with their work and making progress against their Education Health Care Plan outcomes.
- Playing a key role in helping students get the most out of their experience at Gateshead College.
Requirements:
- Passionate about delivering high-quality support and helping students build confidence and skills.
- Experience working with young people with special educational needs and autism is desirable but not essential.
