Gateshead College is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and student-focused Learning Facilitator to work alongside our Sport and Fitness team. This is an exciting opportunity to support learners throughout their educational journey, helping them develop the skills, confidence and professional behaviours needed to succeed in the sport, fitness and leisure industry.

As a Learning Facilitator, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. Working to the Gateshead EDGE Model, you will help students develop the knowledge, skills and employability behaviours that give them a competitive advantage when progressing into employment or further study.

The role requires you to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders across the college and wider community to support the effective delivery of the Edge programme and the learner progression journey. You will liaise with key employers to source valuable learner placements. You will work closely with curriculum teams, employers, universities, enrichment providers and other partners to ensure learners have access to meaningful opportunities, experiences and activities that support their personal and professional development.

You will monitor and track learner engagement, progress and development through systems including Unifrog and Connect Conversations, using this information to identify individual needs and provide appropriate guidance, intervention and signposting. You will support learners to reflect on their experiences, recognise their strengths and development areas, and make informed decisions about their future progression.

The role requires flexibility, initiative and a positive 'can-do, will-do' attitude, with a commitment to the principles of Employment Edge for Everyone and ensuring every learner is supported to develop the confidence, skills, behaviours and aspirations required for their next steps.

You should have excellent communication and ICT skills and be able to deliver a curriculum with a willingness to embed digital skills. You will enjoy working independently as well as thriving on being part of a team. You will be able to juggle a busy workload with a positive approach whilst being eager to learn and keep up to date with the developments in the industry.

The successful applicant will have knowledge, experience and passion for the Sport and Fitness industry.
