We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Curriculum Leader to support the continued growth and success of our Rail and Civil Engineering department. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who is passionate about developing the future workforce within the rail and engineering sectors through high‑quality education, training and industry engagement.

In this role, you will play a key part in the operational leadership of the department, supporting the delivery, development and continuous improvement of programmes for both adult learners and school leavers. You will help shape an engaging and industry‑focused curriculum that meets the evolving needs of employers and provides learners with the technical skills, confidence and employability required to succeed in the sector.

Working closely with curriculum staff, employers and stakeholders, you will contribute to the day‑to‑day operations of the department while also delivering high‑quality rail engineering training across a range of programmes. You will support learner recruitment, retention and achievement, ensuring students receive an outstanding learning experience that prepares them for employment, apprenticeships or further study.

With excellent communication and organisational skills, you will build strong relationships with employers and external partners, represent the department at events and industry forums, and actively contribute to the continued growth and reputation of the provision.

We are looking for an outstanding leader with relevant industry experience in Rail and/or Civil Engineering, alongside a passion for supporting learners to achieve their full potential. Experience delivering practical and theoretical training within engineering or rail disciplines is essential, and previous leadership or curriculum coordination experience would be advantageous. We're looking for someone who has rail track maintenance experience, a Level 2 technical qualification (Level 3 preferred). A teaching qualification would be preferred, but this is not essential as we could support you with this.
