Job overview

Are you a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced Curriculum Leader? We’re looking for someone who can shape an innovative and engaging curriculum that inspires learners to develop skills, build confidence and achieve qualifications that allow them to embark on a sustainable career in their chosen industry. In this role you will develop and deliver high‑quality teaching, manage curriculum development, and create opportunities for students to practice and showcase their work through live projects and work experience. You will lead on developing employer panels, pro‑actively network with industry, and contribute to business development of the department and wider college.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, evaluate and assess curriculum for Art, Design & Media courses
  • Lead and mentor teaching staff to improve standards and practice
  • Represent the college at industry events and employer panels
  • Collaborate with industry partners to provide live projects and work experience opportunities
  • Engage students in developing creative projects and portfolio development
  • Prepare and deliver training for staff on new programme elements
  • Report on programme outcomes and develop improvement plans

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience up to Level 5 of one or more of the following subjects: Fashion, Retail and Marketing; Textiles & Print Design; Costume Design; Interior Design; Graphic Design and Advertising; Media; Digital Art; Illustration
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Experience in curriculum design and assessment
  • Ability to build and maintain industry relationships
  • Leadership experience, preferably in a teaching environment
