We’re looking for a dynamic and values-driven leader to join our senior team as Assistant Principal: Curriculum & Skills. As Assistant Principal, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering this ambition.

You’ll lead curriculum teams to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring strong outcomes for learners and apprentices. You’ll work closely with employers and partners to design ambitious, industry-driven curriculum that responds to local and regional skills priorities. You will also take strategic leadership for adult education across the College—ensuring our offer is aligned with national and regional skills priorities, and consistently delivers high-quality outcomes for learners, employers and communities. In addition, you will have direct responsibility for our Digital, Engineering and Automotive provision, leading the development of high-quality, future-focused curriculum in sectors critical to regional growth.

Salary: £66,617 leading to £72,797 per annum.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide strategic leadership and management of curriculum teams, driving high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement an employer-informed curriculum aligned to labour market needs and progression opportunities.
  • Ensure excellent standards of teaching, learning and assessment, leading to strong learner outcomes.
  • Use data, performance measures and insight to drive improvement, target setting and intervention.
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Management Team to deliver the College’s curriculum and quality strategies.
  • Build and nurture strong external partnerships with employers, stakeholders and sector networks.
  • Lead on cross-college strategic priorities, including adult education and key growth sectors.
  • Create an environment where people feel valued, motivated and empowered to succeed.

About you:

  • Has proven leadership experience at a senior level within FE or skills and can demonstrate a clear vision for curriculum design and innovation.
  • Has strong understanding of quality, performance and improvement.
  • Uses data confidently to drive outcomes and decision-making.
  • Builds effective relationships with employers and external partners.
  • Leads with integrity, inclusivity and ambition.
