Responsibilities
- Liaise between customers and the workshop; carry out road tests, review job cards for information, request additional details as needed, and inform customers on progress.
- Handle more involved and complicated repairs or provide advice as required.
- Coordinate with prior approval / Ford technical when assistance is required or pre-diagnosis is completed.
- Maintain a minimum of 50% productive time and contribute to department productivity and the monthly customer satisfaction score.
- Take responsibility for ensuring all jobs are completed within agreed timeframes and maintain a high level of department productivity.
- Replace components, parts, lubricants and consumables and record usage.
- Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Demonstrate a track record in a similar role, ideally within a franchised dealership environment.
- Demonstrate the capability to work within a highly successful team.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.

Notes
*Starting bonus of £2,000 (gross) is applicable to new starting Vehicle Service Technicians at Gates from the 1st October 2023 only. The Vehicle Service Technician should not currently be employed by a Ford dealer. Once a job offer has been made and accepted, and they start work with us, an introductory commission of £1,000 will be paid to them upon completion of one month’s service, with a further £1,000 payment on successful completion of their probationary period. Starting bonus payments for rejoining Motor Vehicle Technicians will be at the discretion of a Managing Director.
