Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- The main purpose of this role is the inspection, service and repair of all electrical & where appropriate basic mechanical systems of the plant and equipment within the facility and to ensure that this is carried out in a safe and competent manner and in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
- Service and repair of all electrical / mechanical plant – (all facility equipment) including the plant electrical systems.
- Perform diagnostics using manufacturers' publications, schematics and software to troubleshoot and repair.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks.
- Advise line management of potential plant problems.
- Identification and sourcing of components and services to complete assigned maintenance tasks where required.
- Writing technical documentation where required, such as instructions, risk assessments, LOTO documentation, Maintenance request reports.
Keys to Success
- Read & understand technical drawings, technical documentation.
- Highly proficient in PLC control systems and electrical drive systems.
Requirements And Preferred Skills
- A recognised apprenticeship in an appropriate skill.
- Significant (min 4 years) post apprenticeship, electrical maintenance experience gained within a manufacturing environment, multi skilled electrical bias experience would be advantageous.
- C&G, ONC, OND, NVQ qualified in a relevant subject(s).
- PLC controlled equipment fault finding and Repair (Siemens preferred).
- IEE 18th Edition Regulations, BS 2391 inspection and testing or equivalent.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to loud. Temperatures can vary depending on weather conditions and can be extreme. Gates is managed in accordance with OSHAS requirements and requires all employees to wear steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and a hard hat.
