Full-Time No working from home possible
GatenbySanderson

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest groups in the NHS, with a turnover of £1.4 billion and 17,000 dedicated staff. Made up of Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG), we are committed to delivering world‑class secondary and tertiary care services for the 1,500,000 people we serve. We also deliver a wide range of community services across North and North East Lincolnshire, including district nursing, physiotherapy, psychology, podiatry, and specialist dental services. As a university teaching hospital working with Hull York Medical School, we are a UK leader in research and innovation and a significant partner in the Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care System.

Everything we do is guided by our vision, United by Compassion – Driving for Excellence. While addressing current regulatory and performance challenges, we are delivering a focused improvement programme to enhance patient care, strengthen financial sustainability, accelerate transformation, and build an engaged clinical workforce and positive safety culture. Above all, we remain committed to being a great place to work, with patients and communities at the heart of everything we do.

We are seeking a Non‑Executive Director and two Associate Non‑Executive Directors. The NED will chair our Performance, Finance, Digital & Estates Committee, providing leadership and oversight of organisational performance, quality, improvement and delivery across the Group. As an Associate NED you will not participate in formal board votes, but you will be very much involved with board discussions and serve on board committees, with the prospect of future NED roles on the board.

For all roles we are seeking candidates with experience of operating at a strategic or board level within a large, complex organisation, together with expertise in one or more of the following areas: improving customer, patient or service‑user experience and outcomes; leading transformation and innovation through digital technologies; providing clinical leadership within nursing, allied health professions or primary care; or experience gained in the commercial sector. The NED, as chair of one of our main board committees, will also possess the depth of senior experience to cover the committee’s remit. Candidates should either live in or have a strong connection to the area the Group serves.

We want our Board to be as inclusive and diverse as possible, and we are keen to attract candidates who can bring diverse perspectives. We warmly welcome expressions of interest from the widest possible range of backgrounds, particularly those who are under‑represented at board level in the NHS.

Applicants will ideally live in or have strong connections with the area served by the trust.

For an informal conversation about the role and to discuss what we are looking for in more detail, please contact Gatenby Sanderson via Carmel Bell (carmel.bell@gatenbysanderson.com), Robin Staveley or Emily Smith (emily.smith@gatenbysanderson.com).
