Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS trusts in England, employing 20,000 colleagues and providing hospital, integrated health and community services to more than one million people across Salford, Oldham, Rochdale and Bury, alongside specialist services for patients across Greater Manchester and beyond. Committed to delivering consistently high standards of care and working closely with key partners, we are entering an important new phase as we embed a refreshed operating model, strengthen performance across our services and deliver our long-term ambitions.
This is a pivotal time to join our Board and help shape the future of healthcare for our communities. We are seeking a values-led Non-Executive Director to provide support, scrutiny and constructive challenge across the full Board agenda while bringing particular expertise in digital transformation and technology.
As we continue to embrace innovation, data and artificial intelligence to improve outcomes for patients, staff and populations, you will contribute strategic insight into the opportunities and risks associated with digital change at scale. Appointed by our Council of Governors, you will be accountable to our members and communities, uphold the highest standards of integrity and corporate governance, and play a key role in supporting us through the next phase of our transformation journey.
We are looking for an accomplished leader with significant board-level or equivalent experience gained within complex, regulated and customer-focused organisations. While previous NHS experience is not essential, you will bring a strong track record of leading digital transformation, innovation or technology-enabled change at scale, together with an understanding of the associated governance, risk and assurance requirements.
An inclusive leader, you will be comfortable operating within a unitary board environment and will demonstrate a commitment to improving experience, outcomes and equity for our workforce and the diverse populations we serve. We want our Board to provide a broad spectrum of lived experience and are keen to attract candidates who can bring diverse perspectives. We welcome expressions of interest from the widest possible range of backgrounds, particularly those who are under-represented at Board level in the NHS.
