At the British Safety Council, we are driven by a clear purpose: to ensure that no one is made ill or injured through their work. Combining commercial strength with impact, we support organisations worldwide through education, audit, consultancy and thought leadership to improve workplace health, safety and wellbeing.

We are seeking an exceptional Managing Director to lead our UK and International business, including in the Middle East. This is a critical executive role with full accountability for strategy, performance and growth across a diverse portfolio spanning training, digital learning, audit and consultancy, as well as membership, events and publications.

Reporting to the Chief Executive and serving on the Group Executive Committee, you will own the P&L and drive sustainable revenue and profit growth while strengthening our market position. You will lead a multidisciplinary team with responsibility for sales, marketing, technical and delivery functions, ensuring operational excellence and consistently high-quality outcomes for our clients.

Working closely with colleagues across the Group, including our India business, you will help deliver a coherent global approach while identifying new opportunities for growth and innovation.

We are looking for a commercially astute and strategically minded leader who has operated at Managing Director, Country Manager or equivalent level, with a strong track record of delivering growth in service-led, B2B environments. You will bring the credibility and presence to influence at the most senior levels, build lasting partnerships and represent the organisation externally.

Experience in international markets is important, and exposure to the Middle East would be an advantage. You will have a strong appreciation of the opportunities presented by AI and emerging technologies, with the ability to leverage innovation to strengthen customer value, improve efficiency and create new commercial opportunities.

You will be an inspiring leader of people, able to translate strategy into action, drive performance and lead through change. Alongside strong financial capability and data-led decision making, you will have a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics, and the ability to navigate a complex, matrixed organisation.
