Gatenby Sanderson are currently supporting a Healthcare Organisation with their search for an Interim to support them within the Workforce team, specifically within their vacancy management and establishment control process.

The role is intended to alleviate pressure on the current Workforce Delivery Lead, who is increasingly being drawn into operational detail and administration associated with workforce approvals and governance processes.

Location

Requirements: - Flexible hybrid working arrangement, circa 2-3 days required on site initially, with a reduction in on site presence as the successful candidate becomes more embedded in the programme.

Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered.

The role

The organisation operates a structured vacancy control process whereby divisions submit workforce requirements for approval.

These requests are scrutinised through a formal governance framework before progressing to a weekly Workforce Control Panel where final decisions are made regarding approval or rejection.

As demand and volume have increased, significant administrative and coordination activity has developed around the process.

This is currently creating capacity challenges for the existing lead and reducing their ability to focus on strategic priorities.

An experienced project support or PMO professional is therefore required to provide dedicated coordination and management of the process, ensuring consistency, compliance and efficient progression of requests through the approval pathway.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the end-to-end coordination of vacancy management requests, ensuring that all submissions are appropriately reviewed, quality assured, and progressed through the relevant approval routes before presentation at weekly decision-making panels.

The role will act as a central point of coordination between operational divisions, Finance, Human Resources, PMO teams and other stakeholders involved in the approval process.

Essential Experience

The ideal candidate will have

  • Strong project support, programme support or PMO experience.
  • Experience coordinating governance and approval processes.
  • Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience developing and maintaining process documentation.
  • Experience managing trackers, reporting tools and workflow systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance capability.
