We're currently supporting a Local Authority in the South with the search for an experienced Interim Principal Financial Accountant to join their team on an initial 6-month contract .
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior finance professional to play a key role in strengthening financial governance, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring robust financial accounting, compliance, and stakeholder engagement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities Financial accounting and reporting Technical accounting and statutory compliance Balance sheet management and provisions, including the production of MIRS Programme and scheme management Financial analysis and insight Governance, internal controls, and risk mitigation Stakeholder engagement People leadership, support, and training What We're Looking For The successful candidate will have: Significant experience within Local Government finance Financial accounting and reporting Technical accounting and statutory compliance VAT compliance and financial controls Balance sheet management and reconciliations Financial governance and continuous improvement Stakeholder engagement across multiple levels Leading and developing finance teams Contract Details Hybrid working Circa £550 per day Initial 6-month contract If you're an experienced finance professional looking for your next interim opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
