We are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a local authority who are seeking a highly experienced Interim Managing Director for a minimum six-month assignment, with the potential for extension.
This is a pivotal leadership role focused on transformation, commercial strategy, and the transformation of a Local Authority Trading Company (LATCo).
Currently a joint venture property company between a LATCo and local council, the Council is requiring expert leadership to manage transformation effectively while maintaining service continuity and stakeholder confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic and operational transformation of a LATCo
- Oversee transformation programmes across the LATCo, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and community needs
- Provide commercial insight and leadership to optimise service delivery and value for money
- Engage with elected members, senior officers, and external partners to ensure a collaborative and transparent approach
- Ensure robust governance, risk management, and compliance throughout the transition process
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a senior leader with:
- Proven experience in leading complex organisational transformations within local government or public / private sector
- Direct involvement in transformation of a LATCo
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and political awareness
- Ability to lead with clarity, resilience, and a commitment to public service values (TUPE oversight experience also desired)
Terms
- Contract Type: Interim (minimum 6 months) with the option to then consider permanent
- Start Date: As soon as possible for handover
- Location Please ask for further information (hybrid working available)
