Job Description
Interim Head of Midwifery – Healthcare Organisation, South East England – Start ASAP – circa 6 Months – Band 8c
We are currently working with our client, a healthcare organisation based in the South East England, who are looking for a new Interim Head of Midwifery.
This role is looking to start ASAP and will be for circa 6 months. The Interim Head of Midwifery job will ideally be performed on a full-time basis. Regarding remuneration, this role falls inside IR35 and is band 8c, preferably via a Fixed Term Contract. In addition, the successful candidate will need to have some weekly on-site presence.
Job Role – Reporting to the Director of Midwifery, key duties will include;
- Facilitating strategic development and capacity-building for senior leaders within maternity services
- Collaborating with stakeholders to shape and implement a forward-looking vision for maternity service provision
- Providing operational leadership and direction for Midwives and nursing staff with the Maternity Service
- Strengthening and improving safety and quality improvements, clinical guidelines, and operational clinical policies
- Improving patient safety and patient experience
The Person – Successful candidates will need to have worked a similar role previously. A leadership Midwifery background of working for an NHS organisation would be very desirable for this role. The postholder must be a registered midwife with a current NMC (UK) registration.
