The SIA exists to protect the public through effective regulation of the private security industry. We are a high performing regulator, working collaboratively with industry, enforcement agencies, Government, and the devolved administrations to raise standards across the security industry sector.
You will join us at a time of change and increased public interest in us and our work. Earlier this year, Parliament passed new legislation which named the SIA as the new, independent, Martyn’s Law regulator; an important and substantial role that will raise the standards of preparedness and protective security across the UK.
As Executive Director of Martyn’s Law, you will be the lead Director for this work, providing strategic leadership both internally and externally to set up and mobilise Martyn’s Law functions in readiness to go live in Spring 2027. This will mean playing a lead role in developing and evolving the SIA’s approach for taking on the functions of Martyn’s Law, appointing and developing a high-performance team, shaping a culture and ways of working in support of excellence and impact, and forming exceptional working relationships with those in scope of the new law and a broad range of public and private sector stakeholders and delivery partners.
With a track record of senior leadership and performance success in high-profile comparable organisations with national reach (government, private or public sectors), you will bring substantial strategic, organisational change, and operational capability to this role, along with inspiring, visible leadership credentials that enable you to elicit outstanding performance and cooperation from teams and partners alike. Whilst experience of having worked in regulatory or protective security settings will be helpful, we are open to considering leaders from a broad range of sectors.
This is both an exceptional career opportunity and an exciting time to be part of the SIA. If you have the necessary skills, expertise, and experience, share our passion for making a real difference to public safety and will embrace our values and culture, we look forward to hearing from you.
