We are supporting an NHS trust with the appointment of an Interim Head of Estates to provide stable, values-led leadership during a period of transition. The role has responsibility for Hard FM services, including mechanical, electrical, ventilation, water systems and lifts, with a strong emphasis on compliance, assurance and regulatory standards. You will oversee an established in-house team and work closely with senior stakeholders to maintain safe, effective service delivery.

We are seeking an experienced estates leader who brings a calm, collaborative approach, strong emotional intelligence, and a proven ability to build trust and confidence within teams.

Essential experience:
  • Significant senior leadership experience within estates / facilities management (Hard FM)
  • Strong technical oversight across M&E, water systems, ventilation and compliance disciplines
  • Proven track record of improving or maintaining statutory and regulatory compliance
  • Experience leading in-house estates teams within a complex, multi-disciplinary environment
  • Demonstrable ability to stabilise teams, build trust and foster a positive working culture
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior level
  • Experience operating in regulated environments (e.g. healthcare, public sector or similar)
  • Ideally knowledge of NHS environments
