We are confidentially supporting a healthcare organisation in their search for an Interim Cancer Recovery Director to lead the delivery, improvement and transformation of cancer performance and pathways. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the post holder will be accountable for developing and delivering an integrated Cancer Recovery Programme, driving sustainable improvement against national cancer standards, and improving outcomes for local populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, governance, and delivery of the Cancer Recovery Programme.
- Develop and implement an integrated cancer improvement plan across pathways.
- Drive pathway transformation, left‑shift models, and quality improvement.
- Prioritise and resource programmes to maximise impact and value.
- Ensure financial viability and sustainable delivery.
- Work collaboratively with system partners, including community services, primary care, the ICB and regional teams.
- Provide assurance and updates to senior leaders and system stakeholders.
Experience Required
- Senior healthcare leader with strong cancer performance and transformation experience.
- Proven track record of delivering sustainable improvement at scale.
- Excellent system‑working and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Quality Improvement qualification.
- Values‑driven, inclusive and compassionate leadership style.
