Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor role at Gateley. Located in Kibworth. The team is a growing and successful project team; Gateley RJA is a Chartered Quantity Surveying Practice offering quantity surveying, project management, employer’s agent, clerk of works, and advisory services.
The Role
We are looking for a talented and ambitious Chartered Quantity Surveyor with team-leading skills and dedication to providing an excellent service.
You will be responsible for leading a range of construction projects, supervising the work of the Quantity Surveyors, Assistants and Apprentices in your team, and helping them fulfil their potential. You will act as the principal point of contact with the project client and the other consultants on the design team, and you will work independently, taking responsibility for the delivery of Gateley RJA’s QS/PM services on all projects you and your team are working on.
Other responsibilities include managing allocated Key Client Accounts, building relationships with key clients to ensure satisfaction and nurture new work opportunities, training and assisting others (including in-house CPD events), seeking new project opportunities, acting as Employer’s Agent on Design and Build projects, following the Quality Management System, managing multiple projects, and delivering an exceptional level of service to clients.
Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management or a related field; ideally MRICS chartered membership or commitment to achieve Chartered status within 3 years of starting Gateley RJA.

The Person
Candidates will demonstrate:
- Degree level in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management or a related field.
- Ideally MRICS chartered, or commitment to achieve Chartered status within 3 years.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience running own projects (quantity surveying and/or project management) from a consultancy background.
- Proficiency in measurement, ideally using CostX.
- Strategically minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; excellent organizational skills; attention to detail; commitment to quality.
- Skilled negotiator; driving licence and own car; willingness to travel to sites across the UK as required.
