Due to growth, we have an opportunity for a Legal Assistant to work on a permanent basis within our Plot team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting a team of Conveyancers who have a caseload of new build property purchase transactions for multiple UK developments.
  • Drafting and sending out completion paperwork.
  • Dealing with searches, post-completion formalities, including SDLT and Land Registry registrations.
  • Sorting, organising and distributing post in the office.

We are the leading residential development and urban regeneration legal team in the country acting for 18 of the top 20 UK housebuilders, institutional landowners such as Oxford University and other large-scale sector participants. We advise over the complete life cycle of new build housing from initial heads of terms, acquiring the land, obtaining planning permission, building out the scheme and the sale of the new homes. Schemes range from local developments of 50 new homes up to 20,000 unit green field urban extensions and multi-billion pound urban regeneration schemes in central London. We also advise our PLC clients at Group level on national issues such as cladding remediation post-Grenfell and Competition and Markets Authority investigations.

This is an entry-level position, and we are looking for a self-motivated individual who is dedicated to supporting the team, and performing a wide variety of administrative tasks to the best of their ability. While there are pathways for professional development and career progression, this position is best suited for those who are eager to excel in this role and have a vision for longer term growth within our organisation. The successful candidate will have the following:
