We are looking for a solicitor with 0-3 years PQE (Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales) to join our award-winning Asset Finance team within the Commercial Disputes Resolution Unit at our Birmingham Head Office. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a qualified career working alongside senior lawyers on complex asset finance and equipment leasing litigation matters.

Opportunity

  • Assist on a variety of asset‑finance matters, working closely with senior lawyers
  • Take ownership of discrete tasks or matters with appropriate supervision
  • Develop client relationships and contribute to high‑quality client service
  • Build technical expertise and specialism over time

Key Responsibilities

  • Support partners and senior lawyers on client matters and transactions
  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, advice and correspondence
  • Draft instructions to court agents and counsel; produce court hearing bundles, indexing, disclosure, witness statements and related documents
  • Manage smaller matters or projects independently where appropriate
  • Conduct legal research and apply findings to client advice
  • Communicate with clients, agents and third parties
  • Assist with business development initiatives and client relationship activities
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with a genuine interest in asset finance and equipment leasing disputes
  • Previous commercial litigation or disputes experience, or experience as a paralegal within a litigation team, is advantageous
  • Ability to deliver clear, logical, commercially relevant legal advice in a timely and competent manner
  • Ambition to build and grow a network of clients within the asset finance community
  • Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and willingness to learn
  • Personable, dynamic, collaborative, and confident in engaging with clients, debtors, and courts
  • Strong team‑work ethic and resilience under pressure
  • Professional discretion, self‑motivation, commitment, and a 'can‑do' attitude
  • Consistent, exceptional attention to detail
