About the role
Reporting into the Manager, Warehouse & Goods Receiving/IDS, The Warehouse Team leader will assist the Manager with managing the warehouse/inventory and looking after Goods Receiving, storing, picking & packing, and distributing goods internally to achieve short- and long-term goals and KPI’s.
IN the absence of the Manager, the team leader will deputise as assigned for the Manager, Warehouse & Goods Receiving/IDS (GGHN & Radius Park)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the manager to run the day-to-day operations of the Goods Receiving and warehouse/inventory activities
- Maintains ERP systems up to date (transactions and data maintenance), adheres to the mapping of the warehouse.
- Responsible for the quality control of incoming goods/material and taking appropriate actions including returns to suppliers
- Collaborates closely with Ordering and IDS to ensure stock levels are constantly monitored in line with Days on Hand data, minimum/maximum stock levels are adhered to, and targets and applicable business KPI’s are met
- Monitor and manage First Expiry First Out (FEFO), record and manage the expiry dates
- Records and reviews material waste and deadstock and adjusts stock levels proactively and accordingly
- Manages daily job assignments of warehouse/Goods Receiving staff as per rosters provided and runs daily briefings
- Assists the manager warehouse good receiving & IDS to ensure legal/compliance requirements across health and safety, food safety, and security
- Leads all receiving and warehouse/inventory activities in line with unit finance regulations and audit criteria
- Delivers goods/material to production / internal customers according to agreed Service Level Agreement
- Other duties / projects as assigned by Manager Warehouse / Goods Receiving.
Supports the day to day operation of the receiving and warehouse/inventory activities to run the business effectively
- Pick and pack orders for internal customers (Dispatch, Assembly (Make & Pack / Pick & Pack / Wash & Pack), Hot Kitchen, etc.)
- Flexible in working in different area of the warehouse GGHN if the need arises (Freezers, Chiller, Ambient Area & Radius Park)
- Adheres to legal/ HACCP compliance across health and safety, food safety, security, and gate OPEX (in-house operational excellence program) and reports all incidents/accidents.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Ideally educated to a degree level but not essential
Work Experience
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment leading a team.
- Previous Warehousing experience ideally within food manufacturing sector.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant operational experience.
- A fork lift truck license and/or license to drive assisted lift equipment is preferred
- Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)
- Food hygiene, security, H&S experience/qualification preferred.
- Awareness of Dangerous Goods Handling and aviation security
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel desirable
- Proactive and flexible attitude
