As a Commis Chef, you will be based at our Glasgow unit and play a key role in preparing and cooking high-quality in-flight meals. You will also support customer presentations when required. Working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, you’ll collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure all meals meet exact specifications, quantities, and quality standards. Maintaining cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene will be essential, alongside supporting catering operations across our non-airline contracts.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals to required standards and deadlines
- Support stores and procurement teams with ordering and product selection
- Communicate effectively with the Shift Manager regarding production or delivery issues
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
- Assist with general kitchen operations, including:
- Washing, sorting, assembling, packing, and positioning aircraft equipment
- Processing and stripping trolleys for distribution
- Offloading and sorting food/equipment and delivering to correct areas
Education & Qualifications
- GCSEs or equivalent (‘O’ Levels)
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery (desirable)
Experience
- Experience in high-volume cooking (e.g. hotel, restaurant, or airline catering)
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
Skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal English)
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Additional Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- Successful DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
- Ability to provide a 5-year employment/education history
