  • Job Summary

As a Commis Chef, you will be based at our Glasgow facility, where you will play an important role in preparing and cooking high-quality in-flight meals.

You may also assist with customer presentations when required.

Working in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines, you will collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure all meals are produced to the required specifications, quantities, and quality standards.

You will also be responsible for maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene while supporting catering operations across our non-airline contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals to the required quality standards within set deadlines.
  • Assist the stores and procurement teams with ordering ingredients and selecting products.
  • Keep the Shift Manager informed of any production or delivery issues.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.

• Support general catering operations, including

  • Washing, sorting, assembling, packing, and positioning aircraft equipment.
  • Processing and stripping trolleys ready for distribution.
  • Offloading, sorting, and delivering food and equipment to the appropriate areas.

Education & Qualifications

  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications (O Levels).
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred).
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery (preferred).

Experience

  • Previous experience in high-volume catering, such as a hotel, restaurant, or airline catering environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.

Skills

  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and using initiative.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
