Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing daily production shifts.
- Training and monitoring shift employees to ensure compliance with proper work procedures and production of food components.
- Responsible for the preparation/cooking of food items according to approved specifications and recipes.
- Monitors yields of products to ensure maximum usage.
- Ensures quality production standards are followed and maintained.
- Ensures adherence to HACCP and regional safety regulations in compliance with gategroup policies and procedures.
- Preparing materials lists for designated recipes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
- Educated to GSE or 'O' levels;
- Basic Food hygiene training/certification;
- A recognized City & Guilds qualification or NVQ Level 2 for a Chef is desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Previous supervisory experience working in a high volume, manufacturing, food production, restaurant or catering environment required.
- In-flight catering experience or experience in a high-volume food service environment preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment using own initiative.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Accurate/detailed focused.
- Flexible & self-motivated with the ability to 'think on your feet'.
