Job Summary

We are currently looking to recruit a Driver Team Leader Driver to join our team based in Bristol.

As a Driver Team Leader, you will report into the Transport / Dispatch Shift Managers and will be responsible for the delivery of Customer Service and Operational requirements for all customer airlines and ensuring the flights are catered to agreed specifications.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the final catering handover, liaising with department supervisors to secure the correct quantities, the right quality and the required scheduled dock departures as well as supervising all airside personnel.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversees Driver and Loader, ensures effective execution of their work schedules at individual and task level, leading and conduct briefings as and where necessary.
  • Ensures dock departure times are met.
  • Assures that the correct work instructions are available, followed and where necessary reiterated.
  • Ensures compliance with the regulations (Security / Country / Safety / SQOR / Company Rules and Procedures).
  • Supervises, mentors and oversees new and recurrent employee training and signs off remedial training.
  • Participates in PRIDE/Squad.
  • Resolves and or escalates conflict issues, providing solutions and executing corrective actions when required.
  • Co-ordinates and ensures investigations of incidents/accidents are carried out in accordance with local / company rules.
  • Reviews pre trip truck inspections file and actions necessary items.
  • Monitors airside activities to ensure compliance to the customers’ flight schedules, local airport rules and national guidelines.
  • Acts as a point of contact between Gate Gourmet airside operations and Airport / Customer Operations Teams.

Qualifications

Education

  • Educated to GCSE’s or higher and/or relevant equivalent work experience at similar level.
  • Food and hygiene related education/training.

Work Experience

  • Previous Experience of leading diverse teams
  • Previous Customer Service experience.
  • Previous operational coordination experience.
  • Good working knowledge of in-flight catering operations preferred.

  • Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Must always demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work efficiently using own initiative to resolve issues.
  • Ability to build relations and manage diverse teams.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; able to communicate at all levels.
  • PC Literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales, prioritising as appropriate.
  • Proactive and positive/flexible attitude.
