Operations - Fixed Term Contract - 12 Month - Can go PERM!

Job Overview

Regular roster of 3 on 3 off shift, availability for 07:00am - 4:30pm, Free onsite parking, complimentary meals and refreshments, free uniform, free life insurance, company sick pay, pension scheme.

As a Team Leader you will support the unit operations in managing the daily operation, taking ownership and accountability for meeting operational objectives and targetsthrough the effective management of the day shift team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage the team’s output to ensure delivery of business, section and customer targets.
  • Carry out performance monitoring of team members on a daily basis and escalate concerns to Duty Manager or Unit Manager.
  • Ensure shift briefings, capture of key information and display / report relevant KPI’s.
  • Attend/conduct daily operational meetings/briefings.

Present accurate information and data as requested.

  • Resolve conflict/provide solutions by exercising high levels of influencing, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Create a positive working environment.
  • Maintain legal/compliance across health and safety, food safety, Department for Transport (Df T), security, gate OPEX (in-house operational excellence programme).
  • Point of contact between the unit and the airside operation as required during the day
  • Contribute and manage within defined systems of working to ensure quality of product, service to the customer and team progression/development.
  • Follow company, process and section procedures.
  • Instigate and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deputise for Duty Manager when required.
  • Rotate through different departments/units as reasonably required.
  • Ability to cover a 7-day operation
  • To meet all targets and deadlines as requested

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • A-levels or equivalent and/or relevant work experience.

Work Experience

  • Extensive experience in a similar role, Previous experience in the food industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Basic Hygiene
  • Ideally some experience in a production/manufacturing/stores environment
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of taking accountability

Skills & Knowledge

  • Numerate and literate, ability to interface with management
  • Must demonstrate integrity, confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Ability to work efficiently using own initiative to resolve issues
  • Ability to build relations and manage diverse teams
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English,
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales, prioritising as appropriate
  • Proactive and positive/flexible attitude

Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is desirable but not essential.

You must be able to work shifts and be keen to learn.

In addition to job - related training, you will develop your skills in team work, time management, multi-tasking, communication and attention to detail.

All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check) and provide 5 years of checkable referencing history.

For anytime spent outside the uk exceeding 6 months, you must be able to provide a CRC (Criminal Record Check) for that country.
