As an Aviation Security Operative, you will work based out of our unit at West Drayton, screening in-flight supplies and ensuring only authorised personnel / vehicles access restricted areas. Using advanced X-ray technology and security equipment, you will be the first line of defence against potential threats to aviation safety. You will need sharp eyes, a calm head under pressure, and a commitment to following strict regulatory procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate X-ray machines and other screening equipment to inspect in-flight supplies.
- Search staff, visitors, contractors and their belongings according to in-flight security protocols.
- Conduct vehicle searches.
- Identify prohibited or suspicious items in supplies and take appropriate action.
- Conduct physical searches and secondary screening when required.
- Monitor security checkpoints and ensure a safe flow of people and product.
- Respond promptly to security incidents or alarms.
- Maintain accurate records of screening activities and incidents.
- Follow national aviation security regulations and airport policies.
- Communicate clearly with staff and colleagues to maintain efficient checkpoint operations.
- Report suspicious behaviour or security breaches to supervisors immediately.
Other Skills (Certification, Licenses and Registration):
- Satisfactory visual acuity (corrected vision of 6/9 in each eye)
- Must possess normal or near-normal colour vision
- Attention to detail and able to work in a team
- Able to stay calm and work under pressure
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
Previous experience in a similar role working with X-ray machines within aviation security/airport operations environment is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided to successful applicants. Successful candidates will need to be able to complete a 5-year work history referencing process and DBS check. In addition, you will be required to undergo an eye test and colour blindness test prior to start as well as periodically through the tenure of your employment.
