At Orion Smart Metering, we're proud to work with leading energy suppliers across the UK. We're now expanding our team and are looking for experienced Dual Fuel Engineers to install meters in domestic properties as part of our growing national contracts.
The Role
- Install smart meters safely and efficiently in domestic properties
- Deliver a professional, customer-focused service on every visit
- Ensure all work meets industry safety and compliance standards
- Represent Orion proudly as part of a nationwide engineering team
Pay & Package Options
- Salary Package: £45,000 per annum, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
- Umbrella Day Rate Option 1: £200 per day, Paid via Umbrella PAYE, Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
- Umbrella Day Rate Option 2: £275 per day, Paid via Umbrella PAYE, Engineer provides own van & fuel, Tools & uniform provided
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm (1-hour lunch)
- Minimum of 4 jobs per day / 20 per week
- Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met
Bonus Breakdown
- KPI Bonus: £150 per month, Achieved by hitting 75% completion of your jobs in a calendar month
- Attendance Bonus: £150 per month, Awarded for full attendance and no sick days in a calendar month (pro-rated for holiday taken)
Call Out
- Call out 1 week in 4
- Standby payments Monday-Sunday
- Price per job: £150 per dual, £80 per single, £50 per transactional job
- Saturday work available (paid at day rate)
Requirements
- Diploma or qualification in Smart Meter Engineering
- MOCOPA certification (completed on induction if not already held)
- CMA1 certificate or CCN1 & MET1
- Valid driving licence
- Clean DBS check (recent certificate within 3 months preferred)
- EUSR card (advantageous but not essential)
Documents required: Driving licence, passport, gas certificates, MOCOPA, qualification/diploma, NI number, references, and DBS.
