At Orion Smart Metering, we are proud to work with some of the UK's biggest energy suppliers including two of the Big Five as well as the UK's #1 metering provider. We are now expanding our team and are looking for experienced Dual Fuel Engineers to install meters in domestic properties as part of our growing national contracts.
The Role
As a Dual Fuel Engineer with Orion, you'll enjoy a stable, full-time PAYE position with excellent pay, bonuses, and benefits. You will:
- Install smart meters safely and efficiently in domestic properties.
- Deliver a professional, customer-focused service on every visit.
- Ensure all work meets industry safety and compliance standards.
- Represent Orion proudly as part of a nationwide engineering team.
Pay & Package Options
Choose the option that best fits your circumstances:
- Salary Package £43,000 rising to £45,000 per annum after successful completion of 3 month probation.
- 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
- Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
- Guaranteed Day Rate Option 1 £200 per day Paid via Umbrella PAYE Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
- Guaranteed Day Rate Option 2 £275 per day Paid via Umbrella PAYE Engineer provides own van & fuel Tools & uniform provided
- CIS Option £240 per day Engineer provides own van, fuel & tools Uniform provided
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm (1-hour lunch) Minimum of 4 jobs per day / 20 per week Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met
Bonus Breakdown
- KPI Bonus £150 per month Achieved by hitting 75% completion of your jobs in a calendar month.
- Attendance Bonus £150 per month Awarded for full attendance and no sick days in a calendar month. Pro-rated for holiday taken
Call Out
Call out 1 week in 4. Standby payments Monday - Sunday. Price per job: £150 per dual, £80 per single, £50 per transactional job. Saturday work available. Paid day rate
Requirements
- Diploma or qualification in Smart Meter Engineering
- MOCOPA certification (completed on induction if not already held)
- CMA1 certificate or CCN1 & MET1
- Valid driving licence
- Clean DBS check (recent CRB certificate within 3 months preferred)
- EUSR card (advantageous but not essential)
Documents required: Driving licence, passport, gas certificates, MOCOPA, qualification/diploma, NI number, references, and DBS.
The Process
