We at Orion are recruiting experienced Dual Fuel Smart Metering Engineers to join our expanding metering workforce, installing smart meters in domestic properties across the region. This is a long-term opportunity with excellent earning potential, structured training, and multiple engagement routes to suit your preferred way of working.
Available Packages:
- PAYE Employed Role: £42,000 per annum. Van & fuel card provided. 33 days holiday (25 + 8 bank holidays). Pension (3% employer / 5% employee). Perkbox access. Recommend-a-friend bonus up to £500. All tools, PPE, consumables & parts provided. Weekly pay (2 weeks in arrears).
- Umbrella PAYE via Umbrella Company: Option A - Van Provided £200 per day. Van & fuel card supplied. Option B - Use Own Van £275 per day. Paid weekly (2 weeks in arrears). Must use an umbrella company from our PSL.
- CIS Self-Employed (via approved Umbrella): £240 per day. Must supply own van & fuel. Option to hire a van via Orion (£200/week incl. insurance). Paid weekly (2 weeks in arrears). Bonus paid monthly. Must provide valid UTR. Must use an umbrella company from our PSL.
Call-Out Requirements (All Options):
- 1 week in 4: £400 flat rate per week. Shift would be Mon-Fri: 11am-8pm. Sat-Sun: 8am-5pm. Jobs received during shift must be completed. Schedule subject to change with notice.
Induction & Training (All Options):
- 3-week structured programme:
- Week 1: Mon-Tue at training centre remote learning
- Week 2: Local mentoring
- Week 3: Dual Fuel Assessment at the training centre
- Hotel provided if travelling 1hr. Van collection (if applicable) from Aylesbury on the Friday before induction. Induction is pass/fail. You will be required to take a drug and alcohol test that will affect your ongoing employment.
Daily Expectations:
- Start at customer property 8am. Hours: 8am-5pm (Mon-Fri) 1hr lunch. When on call: 11am-8pm. Minimum 4 completed jobs per day.
