Gas World are a large mechanical contractor working across the South West in the new build housing sector. We are seeking a Trainee Customer Care Advisor to join our Customer Care team, supporting new-build house builders and their homeowners with support following the installations we have carried out for them. This entry-level position is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a desire to build a career within the construction and building services industry. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a first point of contact for customer care queries from house builders, site teams, and homeowners.
- Log, track, and update all customer issues using our internal systems.
- Coordinate appointments for engineers to attend heating and plumbing remedial works.
- Provide clear and timely communication to customers regarding job status, appointment times, and next steps.
- Assist in producing job reports, documentation, and follow-up notes after engineer visits.
- Work closely with engineers, planners, and site teams to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of warranty and non-warranty work.
- Support the Customer Care Manager with administrative tasks as required.
- Uphold the company’s commitment to excellent customer service and professionalism.
Skills & Qualities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle queries professionally.
- A willingness to learn technical aspects of heating and plumbing systems (full training provided).
- Good IT skills, including experience with email, spreadsheets, and CRM systems (training available).
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Qualifications & Experience
- No previous industry experience required - training will be provided.
- Experience in a customer service or administrative role is beneficial but not essential.
- GCSEs or equivalent preferred.
