About the role:
Business Development Directors prospect companies that are not currently Gartner clients within an assigned geographical territory. The purpose is to identify key buying centers to expand the net new client base.
What you’ll do:
- Leverage best practices to drive and successfully sell new business opportunities.
- Build and effectively manage a list of new individuals and new clients to drive business development.
- Collaborate with internal resources and external network to prioritize and penetrate key accounts.
- Focus on driving sales within net new logos and client accounts.
- Utilize account planning and time‑management tools to increase research revenue to an assigned quota.
- Establish and maintain executive relationships with clients to become the trusted advisor.
- Drive quota responsibility aligned to the territory.
- Handover clients to existing Account Executives within 30 days of closing for continued Gartner service.
- Execute Gartner’s internal sales methodology, products, and services consistently.
- Maintain forecast accuracy on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
What you’ll need:
- Consultative sales experience in high‑technology (services or software) with large multinational companies.
- Ability to build credibility quickly with new clients.
- Proven track record developing new business by building prospect lists and transitioning prospects into clients.
- Proven experience closing enterprise‑wide complex sales solutions.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to act swiftly.
- Ability to influence others in the organization without direct reporting relationships.
- Strong executive‑level value proposition articulation.
- Comprehensive understanding of technology buying centers.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills at the executive level.
- Fluent/Native German.
- Fluent/Native English.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree (desired).
