About the Role

Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must‑have insights, market predictions, and best practices for world‑leading organizations.

A Senior Director plays a crucial part in producing pragmatic and provocative insights that help Gartner clients propellight their business towards key objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create innovative, thought‑provoking “must‑have” insights content.
  • Develop new insights and ideas through thought leadership and offer actionable approaches to client needs that accelerate client action.
  • Conduct in‑depth analysis to identify root causes of client barriers and reframe thinking to drive strategy.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in establishing insights positions across a team of analysts.
  • Present provocative, independent insights to Gartner leaders to evolve research agendas.
  • Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts to provide actionable insights.
  • Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice via virtual or face‑to‑face interactions.
  • Create and deliver high‑value presentation materials for Gartner events, conferences, and client briefings.
  • Support BTI and Sales by serving as voice of the market and driving engagement with clients.
  • Provide high‑quality, timely content peer review.
  • Build credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy.
  • Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions with peers.
  • Identify research process improvements or develop new processes to enhance service delivery.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members.
  • Maintain client‑centric focus while encouraging regular engagement with Gartner insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred.
  • 12+ years’ experience in a finance function, ideally with 2+ years of recent AI experience.
  • Career exposure in strategic finance or special projects with the CFO, across finance processes, data sources, and technologies.
  • Provocative and forward‑looking perspectives for CFOs on how AI and emerging technology trends reshape finance functions.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate ambiguity into clear narratives, stories, and teachings that spark CFO action.
  • Demonstrated executive presence and credibility with executives and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high‑quality deliverables.
  • Demonstrated excellence in research and writing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond to questions.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data; ability to apply patterns and frameworks and defend conclusions.
  • Strong business and financial acumen and deep knowledge of the global competitive landscape.
  • Self‑motivated and able to collaborate across teams in a multicultural global environment.
  • Agile learning and adept at navigating highly matrixed environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% where applicable.
