As an Associate Director, you will advise senior leaders across industries on technology strategy, digital transformation, operating models, and execution assurance. You will lead complex engagements and build trusted client relationships. This is a highly visible role for an experienced consultant who combines strong strategy fundamentals, technology insight and client advisory credibility.

What You Will Do

  • Senior Client Advisory
    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives across commercial and public‑sector organisations.
    • Shape and deliver technology and digital strategies aligned to organisational goals such as growth, efficiency, resilience, customer experience, and innovation.
    • Provide technology foresight and market intelligence, grounded in Gartner’s global research, benchmarks, and best practices.
    • Lead the delivery of complex consulting engagements, including:
      • Enterprise IT and digital strategies and roadmaps
      • Digital, AI, data, and technology operating models
      • Cloud and applications modernisation
      • Enterprise architecture, governance, and decision frameworks
    • Support clients in achieving measurable outcomes, including value realisation, cost optimisation, and execution confidence.
  • Programme Assurance & Governance
    • Advise on the design and improvement of governance models, organisational structures, and sourcing strategies across diverse operating environments.
    • Provide independent challenge and assurance at key programme and investment decision points.
    • Support major transformation initiatives through benefits tracking, delivery assurance, and risk management.
  • People & Culture
    • Coach, mentor, and support consultants within the UK consulting team.
    • Contribute to a high‑performance, inclusive, and collaborative consulting culture aligned with Gartner values.

What You Bring

  • You may currently be an Engagement Manager, Principal, Associate Director, or Senior Manager within a consulting firm or advisory environment.
  • Consulting & Strategy Capability
    • Strong grounding in management consulting and technology strategy (consulting firm experience strongly preferred).
    • Experience leading client engagements end‑to‑end, from problem definition through delivery.
    • Confidence operating with senior executive stakeholders in complex organisations.
  • Technology & Transformation Expertise
    • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
      • CIO and executive advisory services
      • Enterprise and IT strategy
      • End‑to‑end technology‑enabled transformation
      • Applications modernisation
      • Cloud transformation
      • Data, analytics, and AI strategy
      • Value realisation, benefits management, or programme assurance
      • Sourcing, vendor management, and contract optimisation
    • Personal Attributes
      • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
      • High standards of integrity, discretion, and professional judgement.
      • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree or equivalent experience is an advantage).
